Do you know if anyone who has on a web purchase or other transaction purposefully consented to being called about an accident they might have in the future or have had in the past?

If in the past you have consented to data being passed on, have you consented to that data being passed on/sold to someone to call you about an accident you may have in the future or have had in the past?

Do you accept that if, for example, you consented to your bank passing on data to business partners ooooh say 2 years ago, that that consent extends to that data being passed on/sold to someone to call you about an accident you may have in the future or have had in the past?

Do you believe that people who receive such calls or texts would accept that they have consented to being contacted either when an accident has occurred ? Do you believe they consented to receive calls or texts when they had not in fact had an accident?

Would you accept the proposition that the hugely vast majority of people that receive such calls or texts would believe that they had not in fact consented to their personal date being passed on/sold for such a purpose?

Would you in fact accept that such people would in fact believe they had been cold called? Would you accept that a definition of cold called could include a definition of '...being contacted when the reason for that contact has not been expressly approved..' or something like that?

Too easy to trot out the normal platitudes methinks. I agree to some extent regarding GDPR but the data is already out there swilling around.
