As has been pointed out elsewhere, this was a report from the FT - not a sting by the "Fake Sheikh".

High reporting standards applied here. Reporters went undercover knowing what was there. That's how it works - it was not a "fishing trip".

The corporate world is quite properly changing. Some of the more interesting comments in reports were from people (let's call them "men who are not awful"), came from previous attendees who always thought this way of doing stuff was rubbish, but who felt the pressure to tolerate the norm.

If anyone thinks the bad behaviour described is okay - well, that's your view.

But if you are a solicitor, the guidelines and standards are q clear - that they exist, and are mostly not enforced, do not blame the author of this piece.
