I should put down my own recollections of Henry who worked as Chairman of the Race Relations Committee of the Bar with me as Vice-Chairman, 1987-1989. He came with me to visit many deprived black sets of Chambers and showed great sympathy and complete lack of noblesse oblige in his talks with black barristers. I am confident his visits and his attitude and influence resulted in a host of improvements in the situation of black and ethnic barristers, so that now it is worlds away from the isolation of that miserable time.
