I think Mr Cooper's fundamental point is that parties are free to agree whatever hourly rates they wish, irrespective of what any guidelines say or what might be recovered inter partes. Provided the client is aware of any likely deductions and appreciates that he may take a hit when trying to recover the costs from the other side, there is (in Coopspeak) nu problema.
