This coroner's practice would be reasonable if she were able to demonstrate that funerals of persons of other faiths or none would or might be delayed later than the bereaved might wish if she gave priority to persons of the Jewish or Muslim faiths. Most non-Jewish/non-Muslim funerals are held about fifteen days after death. Can she show that they would have to take place later, against the wishes of the bereaved, if she gave priority to others?
