Surely the father/son can now sue the solicitors and counsel if they did not dissuade them from bringing this utterly hopeless and self-destructive claim. Perhaps the best advice would have been for the father to simply gift his son the money that he would otherwise spend on costs in inevitably losing this case for a claim of a similar amount and avoid all the highly damaging publicity in the process?
