Because an entire industry has been spawned which has made many people very very comfortable.

LIPs can't manage to do this work, but paralegals, often with no previous experience (but prepared to work for a low salary) somehow can.

It may take a while, but I'm sure a decent enough system can be introduced which will adequately service those with low value soft tissue injuries. There are plenty of countries in Europe and throughout the world that have no recoverable legal costs for PI cases, or no recoverable GDs and non-fault schemes (with no right to sue) and so forth.

This is not really about access to justice. This is about loss of revenue at the top and then loss of jobs etc. That is a justifiable fight in itself. They don't help themselves by pretending its a fight about something it's not.
