You're all so much more concerned about your rules than about guaranteed access for every citizen to justice/the Courts with equality of arms. You trot out phrases like that when waving the flag for the superiority of the English legal system and Common Law.
Take "Ignorance of the law is no defence". (I wonder by whom and how long ago that maxim was uttered.) How can the average (or educated) citizen be expected to know all the (even everyday) laws s/he is bound by? ("Well, that's what we are here for," do I hear you muttering?) It is a quandary thrust in self-defence on the citizen by the State.
