The day before reading the Professor's linking of lawyerless housing courts with common-hold I had responded to the consultation on the latter.

I suggested (interalia) that the establishment of and difficulties with running common-holds should be reserved by statute not to lawyers and conveyancers but to facilitators charged with and trained in achieving the best solution for all instead of individual parties.

I also suggested that the Land Registry should use commonholder-friendly, interactive documents.

And that plans should be made easier in memory of the failure of the 1862 Act and the consequent introduction of general boundaries in 1875

Finally, is it not time that word-processing software stopped treating "commonhold" without a hyphen as a typo?
