Yes, it's something I raised before on another article. Amending acts with insertions &c makes things a lot worse. Just print the entire new text instead.

I think one nadir was the Pension Schemes Act 1993 Commencement (No 6) Order Amendment Order, where the operative function was to change the 6 to 6A because they'd lost track of how many commencement orders there had been.
