Its naïve to think whiplash will stop. Have a non fault accident and even with protected NCD watch your premium rise even when everything is recovered. The sums concerned under tariffs will be smaller, but watch someone set up a website which you input the CNF and it gets sent to the insurer automatically. Little or no cost to a CMC with no overheads. Do they even have to be UK based? Insurers always aren't. Sums recovered will pay off your increased premium for next 3 years so still worth pursuing.

As to no payment without medicals then the SCT rules must change to allow full expert evidence not just a first GP report. Does this kill off MedCo ? If volumes drop, surely a lot of agencies rely on volume to exist. If there is no agency willing to exist on low volumes how does this effect the tiers or the whole premise?

As for jobs, loads will go (they already are in some insurers and experience doesn't mean anything as they shut whole offices not just departments) and notably HMCTS will lose a significant revenue stream. I don't defend the system as is, but the law of unintended consequences here mean the £35 rebate (if you can see that you have it) will be more than wiped out elsewhere in lost VAT, lost revenue to HMCTS etc, lost insurance premium tax (this will go up again to compensate though) etc. Oh and damages get spent usually..

Got to get through parliament first though.
