Anon at 08:05 - what a pleasant polite response (neatly hidden behind anonymity - if you need to be anonymous, at least try and retain some manners).

What exactly do you suppose the purpose of limiting costs to fixed costs is - to encourage genuine claims? The idea is possibly misconceived, but the intention clearly is to discourage solicitors from taking these claims, where fraudulent or genuine.

If you think they have some other purpose, you will no doubt let us all know...
