How much is it chipping in to actually changing the rules to make it possible to work flexibly? Roadshows saying that flexible working can be accommodated are frankly patronising when the system is so clearly stacked against it.

Imagine having childcare responsibilities, managed with your current employer and:
1. Spending a few hundred pounds to apply for another job
2. Arranging leave for assessments which are changed at short notice
3. Applying for a part time role (DDJ) to be told that you can only work in that capacity for a maximum of 2 years before facing another job search
4. Apply for a DJ role on a full time basis, start work and apply for flexible working, knowing that if the request is rejected you cannot do the job
5. When negotiating the above, then being sent to work 100 miles away from home.

It’s shocking that instead of finding a solution to these problems they are instead throwing money at roadshows to convince us that these problems don’t exist.
