I think the whole sneaky thing about this informed consent business is that providers (and that includes insurers) hide away their consent permissions and sometimes you have to go looking for them.
You also get the case, quite regularly, where you are asked to untick a box if you don't want to be contacted and the second box down is the opposite and asks you to tick it if you don't want contact. That can ONLY be done to confuse the customer.
I may have mistakenly in the past not ticked or unticked consent boxes for various things but I've never given my direct consent to be contacted for PPI, accident claims and the like.
