Very well said by Baroness Hale. It is entirely true that the world is not always like the Barristers see it....!! Barristers in this the UK think of everyone to be an able bodied healthy and happy man or woman irrespective of their gender. They have little understanding of real everyday issues like long term health issues, mental health issues and god save anyone with an insidious long term illness.... I can assure you a Barrister would just shrug off those concerns and disregard laws, legislations!!! Lady Hale has pretty much spoken to the point and this won't make very comfortable reading for many a barrister, or even some judges who may have inadvertently turned a blind eye to key issues. Thank you Max Walters for writing about this as it is about time these issues were addressed directly.
