Let's be clear here. The UPCA is taking over the bulk of domestic courts' jurisdiction in the field of patents (art. 32). Its decisions will be based on EU law (art. 24) which retains primacy over national law (art. 20). It shall make preliminary rulings to the ECJ and be bound by rulings of the ECJ (art. 21). Contracting parties will be liable for damages caused by infringements of EU law by the UPCA, including the failure to request a preliminary ruling (art. 22).

But apparently this is all fine because the UPCA is not a purely UK court.
