This really is hypocrisy of the first class order by Reeves and the other members of the committee. It is MPs who make the law. Slaughter and May, and others who did not report partners' earnings, were simply complying with the law as passed by Parliament. If the MPs think this is wrong they should change the law, and accept the blame for their failure to do their job properly; not place the blame for the MPs failure to pass the law correctly on those who have complied with the law as it stands.
I wait to see how long it takes the MPs to change this law. Somehow I think they will continue grandstanding instead of doing their job properly.
