I am a solicitor myself who suffered from domestic abuse within a relationship. The respondent's solicitor at the Family Court stated to me "it's not that bad". My response was "would it not be that bad if it was your daughter?! He lost all negotiating power at that moment, as I was then adamant the Court needed to hearing the full evidence. The respondent withdrew his application to have the non molestation order revoked.
Interestly criminal charges have now been brought against the respondent for the conduct that isn't "that bad".
As a professional lawyer myself, I was shocked at the solicitors comments.
