This is bad, not because publishing "prices" (really???) is bad, I'm sure some people will find this useful, but because the SRA is prescribing how I should run my business and how I should spend my money on my business even though there is a rule-as has already been stated below-that Solicitors must give best estimate of costs at the start. It would have made more sense if the SRA/LeO had done direct work with firms about whom complaints had been received re costs and left the rest of us alone.

Does anyone know what the proposed sanctions will be?

Given the SRA does nothing about those criminal law firms who tout for clients, pay third parties for clients, pay defendants to swap solicitors, represent suspects and defendants where a clear conflict exists (yet alone a significant risk of conflict exists), it would be ridiculous in the extreme if a conveyancing firm which gives all enquirers full details of costs before entering into a retainer should be fined or worse because it doesn't publish its fees on the internet.

Get your priorities right Mr Passmore.
