£3000? For three meetings? I wonder how long you get for that. i.e what the hourly rate works out at?

Family lawyers - at least those who don't have clients for whom money is no object - and mediators have for years tried to get parties to resolve disputes sensibly and amicably rather than treat them like some one-off breach of contract case. Whether they succeed depends entirely on how bitter one or both of the parties is.
I cannot see what is different about any of this.
