So, the question is when did this come to light?
If the information was in a witness statement and false then that can be the subject of perjury. If it was false and the firm knew this then it should have given the client the ultimatum. Change this or we will cease to act as we can't mislead the court or our opponent. For what it is worth I can see the court finding a way to reopen the whole matter.
