Good on him
Standing up to the SRA is hard and requires money ( or insurance) plus determination.
He would have been offered a pay our costs and a slap on the wrist deal more than once
Every time he refused they ramp up the pressure
They take ages to do anything then write a week before Christmas with a take it or leave it deal and want an answer within a week when the office is really busy
Or they won't believe your staff when they say you are on holiday and threaten to add failing to cooperate to the charge list
I'm bitter I know but I've been there and spent £115000 arguing with them
