That is a very astute comment below and one I always understood. If you can't get instructions then you write and explain what you are doing. Give a couple of bites at the cherry to avoid it (14 and 21 day letters), then apply to come off, making it quite clear that all correspondence thereafter should be sent direct to the punter at their last known address.
