Anonymous of 13:46 5 July, and Maurice: You can ahve an "answerable" or "accountable" judiciary, or you can have an independent judiciary. I know which I prefer. Heaven defend us from the American system where (state and local) judges are elected on a party ticket and then re-elected (or not) according to how much money they can raise to campaign and what the pritned and social media think of their judgments. Judgments don't have to be popular to be right.
