Firstly after 5 years NCD are added the rest makes no difference as any reduction is based on 5 years so your additional 11 years really didn't matter to any insurer and remember insurance is not individual its based on the insurance company collecting premiums from many to cover a few, always has been and always will be.
The price comparison quote ISNT a genuine premium, its well documented that these premiums are based on hard and soft cycles and are based on commissions, the same commissions that high street brokers use when they could reduce the initial premium quoted by sacrificing commissions.
Insurance is now about capturing a customer for 12 months and nothing more, times have changed a lot
