Anon @ 7.05, dear boy, linking two IT systems together is a 24 carat grinding rectal ache (as any defendant lawyer who has been through a merger can tell you).
But this would require more than bolting two case management systems with a common SQL together, this would require one interface, let's call it the LIPortal with

an electronic i/d verification
CRU to register the claim,
Medco to ensure that the claimant is not picking (with guidance and a little nudge from the CMC a tame GP to give a 5 year prognosis),
MID so that the claimant can correctly identify the relevant insurer,
Ask CUE
Then present the claim in the portal

If you think that that can be delivered in a period of 2 years I have a pair of breeding unicorns to sell you.

My understanding is that there has been no more than a scoping document as to the development of the systems.

As for claimant firms not understanding how the systems works, what patronising drivel. We would love to have access to the IFIG, Cache and other data etc and so on so we don't waste our time and money presenting claims from clients who couldn't lie straight in bed.

If the insurers wanted to help prevent fraud then they would allow claimant firms to access this data.
