Check the data for the number of solicitors on the roll, home ownership versus renting, and the number of occupiers in each property, the divorce rates, wages and salaries, etc. You will be extremely surprised by what you find, and I might add, it was a significantly lower standard of living.

This jealousy young folk have of older generations is perplexing. When you work hard for 40 or 50 years, why shouldn't they expect a better life and to reap the rewards from their saving, budgeting and grafting.

The older generations have fought for many of the benefits and the higher standard of living that is now enjoyed by society. A little less ageism and a little more respect and gratitude would be a more appropriate response.
