Trouble is many solicitors have never grown up, they still live in the cloistered and sheltered environment of their old schools (public of course). A solicitor who also happened to be a magistrate and under sheriff, one would have expected some honesty there, allowed a simple case of damages with loads of evidence to become stale, the court order for the strike out included the words "Inordinate and inexcusable delay". One might suppose such an order of court confirmed the negligence of the solicitor. Not a bit of it, the various offices of the Law Society proclaimed it was not negligence until the plaintiff took the offending solicitor to court for negligence. The OSS, SRA who ever at the time, claimed they did not deal with negligence only misconduct. Funny old world, I wonder what the negligence panel is all about? I am not surprised at the increasing numbers of litigants in person, apparently Joe public has had enough of being screwed by the ignoble profession, judges are no better for they were solicitors - once, how dare they add "Honour" to their names for HONOUR implies HONESTY?
