It is hard not to surmise that she was punished not for what she said but for the fact that, having identified herself as such, the remarks were made by a solicitor. Presumably she had committed no criminal offences as there is no reference to her having been prosecuted in consequence of her remarks. It is rather worrying that the SRA has decided to curtail freedom of speech which is not without the law. It seems that a plumber can express these views but not a solicitor.
