Firstly, to maintain gender equality, hatred of men and women must be treated equally in the eyes of the law. Secondly, the really serious discrimination that takes place against women in the UK is under Sharia / family courts where Muslim women have rights that are inferior to those provided under common law. I would like to see more activity aimed at helping these Muslim women break-free from (predominantly) male oppression. In a fair and equal society, all men and women must have equal rights. However, in our society, political correctness and concern for group identity and rights (eg Muslims in this case) inadvertently discriminates against women by permitting two sets of laws to be operated in parallel.
