I find the result of the poll and its likely result if English firms were polled very disheartening. When I started in the profession in 1970 I experienced the kind of discrimination that was referred to . I was paid less, so I went into public service and there I discovered that ehat they do is place men higher on the scale when they are appointed. I had shorter interviews and was asked different questions from my male colleagues. To learn that very little has changed is a blow.
