Total agreement with the judgment and the comments below. Although the principle of Freedom of Expression is not inculcated from kindergarten and revered like in the USA, the judgment reminds us and Twitter users of its importance.

What is creeping up on us, if it hasn't already engulfed us, is that religious organisations which espouse freedom of expression and conscience are just the sort to take umbrage when their religion is criticised and seek the protection of hate speech laws.

This judgment has, in any event, emboldened my stance in refusing to draft Wills which include any charitable gifts to schools that teach intelligent design or that life begins at conception in biology or that the world is 6,000 years old. After all, it is not indissociable from the religious orientation of my potential client because these are ideas that can and sometimes are asserted by people of and without religion.
