My insurer clients would not only low-ball quantum but they would fight on liability on anything but the most obvious of cases. The Claimant would be left with a choice of simply walking away or fighting the case all the way through to a hearing acting as a LiP. My clients on the other hand will have a solicitor preparing the case for the hearing and junior counsel presenting it.

That's not what I call equity of arms or for that matter access to justice.
