Different folks have different thresholds. I'm guessing to get to the top of such a firm you have to be gifted and committed, but sometimes the commitment will bite you hard.

My mind then veered off to the poor so-and-so's propping up the legal Aid fiasco - working every hour and weekends, and always wondering if they or their staff will have anything to eat the next month. They do not have a chance to take time off so they go until they drop.
