There is, as you'd expect, a very well articulated argument for improving judicial packages. As there is for many other public servants - politically and given limited finances, it is almost impossible to see a resolution that will work? Coupled with the massive cost of providing pensions for fee paid judges (O'Brien decision) - I don't know where that is accounted for - I guess it will take some creative accounting to resolve this!
