Fiercely independent of the Society (which funds it) and the SRA (which is part of the Society)? Investigative? Ha ha.

Most investigative stuff is done by the readers and appears in the postings, some of which are then deleted; or the Gazette takes the most interesting comments and publishes an opinion piece which adds nothing but is based upon them.
