@anonymous on 19 November - tools like this use a number of clever features to work out whether a passport is fake or has been tampered with, whether a photo has been stuck in later etc. I don't know what technology Thirdfort uses behind the scenes, but it's probably onfido, which is the technology that all the new banks use to allow people to open accounts from their mobile phones - it has all been approved by the FCA.
