I experienced this even in northern firms that didn't want to touch someone who had gone to a local comp, local college, university that was a former Poly, then Law School, despite smashing grades and academic awards at every step of the way.

Unfortunately the attitude of some firms (not all, and certainly not my current firm) is that law is not for the working class.
