Without having read the judgment or reasons, are we not - as members of the solicitors or legal profession - supposed to uphold the rule of law, as our first core duty? And is it not a part of that duty that we don't make offensive personal threats or utterances on social media, whatever the circumstances (barring actual duress perhaps in which case we would not be acting out of choice anyway)? If someone lowers themselves to abuse me, am I not bound (in that I can be seen to be a member of this privileged profession with that particular duty) not to sink to their level and 'give them some back' but, rather, instead to find a way to deal with it within the law. Does it even need a reply? Is it not self-evidently unworthy of reply? Are there no ways of dealing with trolls and verbal abusers within the law or within community standards, such that we should go down to their level?

So it's a good regulatory decision IMHO.

BTW it's disappointing that I'm the only one commenting who shows their name. What is there to be afraid of in owning publically your views on this matter of some importance?
