Anon @00.56: Brexit hasn't delivered increased prosperity, mainly because it hasn't happened yet. I'm doubtful the imminent thought of it has increased prosperity either: political focus on Brexit to the exclusion of most other stuff hasn't been helpful, and the wrangling over what Brexit will mean shows there is no consensus on whether Brexit (in whatever form it eventually takes) will be good or bad for the UK economy, and whether the benefits will emerge in 1, 5 or 10 years' time.

As for not decimating the legal profession in recent years: hardly surprising, and anyway I don't recall anyone forecasting it would. The prospect throws up lots of legal questions which generate work, although there is reported to be a general decline in some commercial activity (on the 'wait and see' principle).
