Solicitors and barristers both are hopelessly over-regulated in a way which promotes not confidence in the legal profession, but the insidious expansion of pseudo-professional regulators, ignorant by design of those they regulate and their professions, whose professional argot is sufficiently obtuse that it would embarass those who practised the worst excesses of Law-French before its abolition.
