It is pointless having a justice system if you can't afford to access it. Access to justice, access to free education, a financial safety net for those unable to work and access to free healthcare were the four pillars of post WWII reform.

Legal Aid has now gone, the justice system is on its knees and in hoc to insurance company interests. Students are leaving college piled high with debt they'll mostly never repay. Universal Credit has been a shambles and the NHS is falling apart.

Well done to all those short-slighted politicians of all parties who see the cost of everything and the value of nothing. What an appalling mess.
