This whole scenario reminds me of Pride and Prejudice’s Mr Collins. Specifically, Mr Collins telling Elizabeth Bennett over and over again that she is free to accept him, and he will accept her ‘sovereign’ wish to choose him if she so desires.

All while ignoring the fact that she has given a clear answer, and that answer is ‘no’.

In exactly the same way, the United Kingdom has made its decision, and that decision is ‘Leave’. Contrary to Halford’s entire argument, this entire court case represents a fundamental refusal to respect our sovereignty. It is a fundamental refusal to respect the fact that the United Kingdom has already made a sovereign decision to Leave, and that decision is final.

Other countries make their citizens vote again and again until they give the ‘right’ answer. That is not how the United Kingdom does democracy. And woe betide anyone who tries to make us do otherwise.
