We expect politicians to be dishonest. It's part and parcel of being a politician. Obfuscation and evasion are the tools of their trade, as evidenced in every political interview ever. Politicians are blindly adherent to party lines, whereas lawyers are expected to be fearless and independent in their pursuit of their client's interests, though to do so while maintaining the highest standards of honesty and probity. There's a huge, huge difference. The comparison can't really be made.
