Yes Mr Mercer will say it outside of Parliament what he said in it as he knows the armed forces and believes the lawyers who think the army did anything wrong in the incident of Danny Boy have an abstract concept of the rule of law and no concept of the circumstances in which our armed forces have to operate or the type of people making the accusations. The murder/ill treatment of 20 odd Iraq insurgents who had surrendered was a simple and totally lie and not something the Army could or would want to cover up. To my very simple, ex forces and now lawyer mind, any accusation of illegality, let alone of such magnitude, without any substantiation and the deliberate hiding of the true by the lawyers in question is not the rule of law but a cynical abuse of process for reasons unknown to me though one could take an educated guess as evidenced by the fees paid to some firms.
