Lawyers in the UK should do everything possible to support their counterparts in Turkey. I lived and worked in the UK for most of my life but recently moved out to Malta. You only realise properly how grim things can be for people living in a dictatorship when you begin to experience it first hand. Malta isn't a dictatorship yet but things are heading that way. The Maltese government is (allegedly) deeply corrupt. Some of the ministers are lawyers but are up to their necks in it (allegedly). Some of the judges, too (allegedly). They haven't started imprisoning lawyers, yet. I urge people to take a serious interest in what's happening in Turkey and to offer what help they can.
