Anon 15.35 8 February: I wasn't comparing the UK to Nazi Germany. I merely noted that many bad things are done which are entirely lawful under the legal system of the country concerned, in response to some of the temperate comments below such as "Strike her off. They should ALL have been jailed, and hopefully on appeal by the CPS they will be. Fed up with commies in this profession being given leeway".

The point by Anon 10.39 7 February

"Doubtless people will point to aberrations but if we start sanctioning the commission of criminal acts to protest against what was a legal and lawfully process, then we are in trouble. By all means adopt this tactic in countries which truly do ride roughshod over people's rights (although you are more likely to get summarily executed or put in a gulag in those countries), but once you decide you are going to step outside the law, you should be prepared to bear the consequences" is more consistent with what I was saying though again I would point out that most of the improvements in human and democratic rights in this country have resulted from people being willing to break or ignore the law (without the sky falling in) until the law itself falls into disrepute. I can still (just about)remember Jagger and Richard being jailed for (simple) possession of cannabis; now the police merely tell you not to be naughty.
