1). When do the MOJ ever consult Solicitors? Or if they do, they blithely ignore the results and do what they want anyway (Probate Fees/Land Registry privatisation...)

2). In my professional life I have come across the naughtiest teeming & lading you can imagine, often involving Solicitors as sole executors. In some cases charities have been involved: some are signed up for alerts; other, smaller ones are not. The former pursue their entitlement (as they must); the latter remain ignorant.

But I am not sure why charities should be singled out for alerts. In a normal situation the honest Solicitor (90% at least I hope) will insist on proper administration and notify the beneficiaries.

So where is the story (apart from ignoring the sub-species of Solicitor....?
