Sounds like UK legal brand is far from toxic but instrumental in building and maintaining the rule of law in the EU and our EU counterparts themselves have no desire to cut us out of their jurisdiction. Accordingly, it won't happen. At the political level, if the EU insist on punishing the UK but locking us out of their market then we should be prepared to threaten to reciprocate in a bid to ensure mutual recognition of legal qualifications, etc. That threat could be supported by the letter-writing campaign suggested in the article. I suspect that in line with statistics we have already seen, there are perhaps three times more EU lawyers working in the UK than vice versa.
