This isn't about obtaining GP reports but obtaining and paying for GP and hospital records, then carrying the cost of those disbursements until reimbursed.

I recall a long running battle going back 10-15 years over whether this was 'solicitors work' but even before the latest set of rules in relation to fixed costs, if I recall correctly the ultimate outcome of those skirmishes was that it was reasonable (and therefore recoverable) to pay an outside agency to chase down and collate the records for you.
